How Do I Obtain Funding For GOOS-related Activities?

GOOS is not a funding agency. Thus, The GOOS project office has no mechanism for considering unsolicited workshop, consultancy, or indeed any other form of, proposals. This said, the project office does support workshops and does hire consultants to assist with GOOS related activities. There are two mechanisms for obtaining such funding from the GOOS project office.

  1. Work with one or more national representatives to the Intergovernmental GOOS committee (I-GOOS), or its board, or the IOC Assembly, or its executive council, to include your proposed activity in the program and budget by resolution of one of these intergovernmental bodies.
  2. Work with the GOOS Project Office staff to convince some other national or international funding agency to provide 'extra-budgetary' financing to the IOC trust fund specifically earmarked to support your activity.
