The Global Sea Level Observing System is an international programme, established in 1985 by the IOC to provide oversight and coordination for global and regional sea-level networks in support of international climate, oceanographic and coastal sea-level research. It is coordinated by the IOC and is now one of the main observing components under the WMO-IOC Joint Technical Commssion for Oceanography and Marine Meteorology.
