GEO Ministerial in Nov. 2007 was the first demonstration of the new outreach program for GOOS and Ocean United. A grand exposition of ocean themed displays were presented at the GEO exhibition hall which were viewed by all the participants in the ministerial.

A sustained presence of GOOS outreach is necessary to promote the GOOS message and effectively maintain the observing systems. When the public and ministers are informed about the goals and successes of GOOS the demand for GOOS services will increase and the longevity of GOOS will be assured.
